2005.05.25  AutoNetworks Agrees to Work with Mie University

signing On May 25 at Mie University in the city of Tsu, a ceremony was held to sign a systematically organized (comprehensive) collaboration agreement between AutoNetworks Technologies, Ltd. and Mie University, a recently incorporated national university. The Agreement was signed by President Toyoda of Mie University and President Ikeda of AutoNetworks. AutoNetworks Technologies is doing research and development of automotive wire harness from the perspective of Power Network, LAN and Module with a view to developing innovative technologies for network power distribution, communications and control?an automotive infrastructure. On the other hand, Mie University, a national university incorporated into an independent administrative entity in spring last year, has strengthened its research cooperation with businesses, reorganizing its Cooperative Research Center into Research Center for Creation. The Center is eagerly promoting joint research with other institutes in close liaison with the Intellectual Property Office, the Regional Partnership Promotion Office, and Mie TLO Co., Ltd. Mie University and AutoNetworks Technologies have frequently met to discuss conducting joint research on various themes. Given the high level of researchers and the advantage of location (proximity of Tsu to Yokkaichi and Suzuka), we will be able to be quick on the draw, and will certainly make good partners. The Agreement, a full-fledged industry-university collaboration involved by AutoNetworks Technologies aims to improve efficiency of and upgrade research and development activities relating to automotive wire harness as a whole, in concert with research and development activities at Mie University. In addition, this systematically organized business-academia collaboration also aims to build a new model in research and development by making the best use of mutual resources (such as research works, researchers and facilities).
